Documentarian making feature debut
“Shooting is expected to last for three months. We are now filming the sequences related to Tehran locations, and then we will leave Tehran for Lavasan to continue shooting, which will come to an end in the Sacred Defense Cinematic Town,” Dehnamaki said.
Shooting started on August 3 in Tehran with actors Mohammadreza Sharifinia, Kambiz Dirbaz, Niusha Zeighami, and Arjang Amir-Fazli, and Akbar Abdi will join the cast soon.
The film tells the story of a gangster named Majid who falls in love with Narges, the daughter of Mirza, a pious man. Majid must reform himself to marry Narges. He resorts to trickery and decides to encounter a rival, who is a war veteran.
Dehnamaki previously made the documentary film “Poverty and Prostitution” (2002).
His latest documentary was “Which Blue, Which Red”, which is about the rivalry between the Iranian capital’s two popular football teams, Esteqlal and Persepolis, and their fans.
Dehnamaki was formerly the managing director and chief editor of the weeklies “Shalamcheh” and “Jebheh”, which were closed by Tehran’s Press Court.
